Pride Plumbing Enhances School's Water System By Replacing Steel Pipe With Copper

Concerned that the building's existing boiler and chiller water pipes might fail to maintain their performance over time, the administrators at Mineral Springs School reached out to Pride Plumbing for a solution that would ensure long-term reliability and cost-effectiveness.

CHALLENGE

case study image 4 The school's black steel boiler and chiller water piping was corroding, causing frequent leaks and contamination. This resulted in inefficiencies, safety hazards, and higher maintenance costs. Pride Plumbing was entrusted with an essential upgrade: remove approximately 320 feet of outdated 3-inch black steel water piping from the ceiling and replace it with premium 3-inch Type L copper piping and ProPress fittings. Also, to install high-quality valves along the piping to optimize the new system.


SOLUTION

Using a scissor lift to access the ceiling pipes, Pride Plumbing technicians expertly replaced the outdated black steel piping with premium copper piping, thus providing the following benefits:
