Why Does My Toilet Always Clog?
Clogged toilets are a common household plumbing problem. But what if they’re recurring? A toilet that constantly clogs could be caused by flushing non-flushable items, like wipes or hygiene products. Another cause is low-flow toilets that don’t have the flushing power to remove waste. Blockages in the drain pipes or sewer lines, often due to tree roots or mineral buildup, can lead to recurring clogs.
If you have a stubborn clog that won’t go away no matter what you do, call Pride Plumbing. A thorough cleaning may do the trick, or in severe cases, you may need to replace the toilet.
Don’t panic if you experience a plumbing disaster in the middle of the night. Relax and call us for our 24-hour emergency services.
Is My Water Heater Failing?
Nothing can ruin your day faster than running out of hot water during your morning shower. This could be a sign that your water heater needs some TLC or you need a complete replacement. Symptoms of a failing water heater include:
Inconsistent or No Hot Water: If the water doesn’t heat properly or turns cold quickly, it could be a sign of a malfunctioning water heater.
Strange Noises: Rumbling, banging, or popping sounds from the water heater often indicate sediment buildup at the bottom of the tank.
Rust or Discolored Water: If the water appears rusty or has a metallic taste, it might be a sign of corrosion inside the tank.
Water Leaks: Leaks around the water heater indicate that the unit is failing and could cause significant damage if not addressed.
Age: Water heaters over 10-15 years old are more prone to failure and often need to be replaced.

Pride Plumbing came out and performed a whole-house plumbing inspection. This included inspecting all the home’s faucets, toilets, and outside hose bib spigots for leaks and proper operation; checking the water heater, all water supply lines, supply stops, and P-traps for leaks; and testing the home’s water pressure and hot water temperature. Our thorough inspection of the interior and exterior of the home only found one issue: a broken bathtub/shower water diverter. We let the customer know about the issue.

Pride Plumbing was called out for a water leak coming from upstairs down into the basement. In the basement, our inspection and tests did not find any leaks coming from the shower, sink, or toilet nor their drain and water pipes. We then went upstairs and inspected the shower. That's when we discovered that water was coming off the bottom of the shower door and running down in-between the baseboard and then down into the basement. The reason for this was that the shower door had a deteriorated seal around it which needed to be replaced. We advised the customer to contact the maker of the shower door to help resolve the issue.

Pride Plumbing came out and provided a cost estimate to 1) trench a ditch from the house to the town sewer tap to expose and remove the outside main sewer septic drain line; 2) install a new 4-inch PVC sewer drain line (connecting it to the main drain line under the home) along with proper cleanouts and fittings per code; 3) install tracer wire in the ditch along with the new sewer drain line; and 4) backfill, tamp, and spread grass seed and straw after the work has been inspected and approved by the county's Inspection Department.

Pride Plumbing came out and provided a cost estimate to repair a water leak behind a shower wall. This would require us to cut an access in the shower wall, replaced the shower valve's galvanized hot and cold water supply lines with new PEX piping and fittings; and install a plastic plumbing access panel over the whole we cut in the wall.

Pride Plumbing came out and provided a cost estimate to perform the following work: 1) after using a camera to locate a defective section of the outside main sewer septic drain line, dig down in the yard at that location to uncover and expose the defective section of pipe; 2) replace that section of sewer line with new 4-inch PVC piping and fittings along with installing a new PVC outside clean out - connecting back onto the existing cast iron piping with new Fernco couplings; 3) test the new piping for leaks and working order; and 4) backfill, tamp, and spread grass seed and straw after the work has been completed.
