After installing the ball water shutoff valve and capping off the water line, we checked for leaks, and the issue was corrected. We provided a cost estimate to replace the yard hydrant (this would require us to dig down and uncover its water supply line, bust the concrete around the yard hydrant, remove the water supply line and the yard hydrant, install the new yard hydrant and PEX piping going to it; connect the PEX piping to the existing outside main water supply line, pour pea gravel around the new yard hydrant, cover the pea gravel with new cement, and cover and tamp the new water line).
