Why You Need a Functioning Sump Pump
When heavy rains fall in Albemarle, it’s important to prevent floodwaters from entering your property. One way to do this is with a fully functioning sump pump. These systems can help prevent a plumbing emergency from occurring at your house by preventing water from flooding your property and avoiding severe damage to the flooring, walls, insulation, electrical work, and more. This wreckage can also lead to the formation of mold and mildew.
Signs You Need Professional Drain Cleaning Services
When your drains start to slow, it’s important to seek professional drain cleaning services to let the experts remove the blockages and have your pipes properly repaired. Some symptoms to watch for that can indicate you need drain cleaning services are:
- Slow drains: These can indicate a variety of problems, including a clog, narrowed pipes, or other buildups.
- Frequent clogs: If you have recurring clogs - even after you regularly clean out hair and other blockages from the pipes -- it can mean you are not successfully removing the blockage. In this case, it’s important to hire a plumber to completely remove the clog.
- Multiple clogs: If you have several clogs at the same time, it could indicate a severe blockage deep within your main line.
- Foul odor: if there are foul odors coming from your drains, it can signal a minor issue - like trapped food -- or a major issue, like a problem with a sewer line.
- Flooding: One of the worst problems associated with clogged drains is a sewage backup. If there is flooding in your basement or near a floor drain, this could indicate a clog and it may just be a matter of time before the drain stops working completely and you end up with contaminated water all over your floor.

What To Expect During Routine Water Heater Services
Experts recommend that you have your water heater serviced at least once a year to keep it working properly. During these routine services you can expect a plumber to perform the following tasks:
- Drain the basin and remove any buildup of sediment, which can create a myriad of issues if not done regularly.
- Inspect both the inside and outside of the unit for hairline cracks or signs of aging.
- Check for any cracks in the hoses.
- Inspect and change your filters when needed.
- Make sure the unit is operating at its maximum efficiency.

Pride Plumbing was called out for no water from a well. Our inspection determined that the jet pump had come unprimed. We reprimed the pump, tested the water pressure in the home, and the issue was corrected. We also provided cost estimates to perform the following work: 1) replace the well’s jet pump, 30/50 pump switch and pressure gauge, and charge the tank; or 2) install a new submersible pump assembly (with an attached torque arrestor and cable guards) - this would include the pump, piping and fittings, wiring, tank tee, and a new well seal.

Pride Plumbing came out and 1) used an excavator to trench a ditch from the house to the town sewer tap to expose and remove an Orangeburg outside main sewer septic drain line that had been damaged from a root intrusion; 2) installed a new 4-inch PVC sewer drain line (connecting it to the main drain line under the home) along with proper cleanouts and fittings per code; 3) installed tracer wire in the ditch along with the new sewer drain line; and 4) backfilled, tamped, and spread grass seed and straw after the work was inspected and approved by Stanly County's Inspection Department.

Pride Plumbing came out and performed the following work: 1) replaced a single-handle bathroom sink faucet and popup with a new customer-supplied Project Source Webber 5277761 single-handle model with a popup along with installing new hot and cold braided stainless steel water supply lines; and 2) replaced a toilet tank's flapper with a new customer-supplied Korky flapper. We also provided cost estimates to 1) replace the toilet with either a new customer supplied model or a Pride Plumbing supplied Gerber Viper model (this would include pulling the old toilet, inspecting/cleaning/replacing the flange, replacing the toilet bowl, toilet tank, tank to bowl gasket and bolts, seat, wax ring gasket, toilet bowl bolts, toilet bowl bolt washers, toilet bowl bolt caps, and above-floor stainless steel braided water supply line); and 2) replace a toilet tank's broken Douglas valve.

Pride Plumbing was called out for a broken and leaking Delta single-handle shower faucet valve handle. Our inspection found that the handle would turn 360-degrees, and after taking it off, we found that the scald-guard screw was loose. We tightened the screw, replaced the handle, and tested the valve with no further issues.

Pride Plumbing came out and performed the following work: 1) after turning off the water, cut the water main underneath the home and added a tee and ball shutoff valve; 2) trenched a ditch starting underneath the home's foundation out to a dog lot; 3) installed blackroll piping in the ditch and connected onto the tee we installed on the water main; 4) installed two frost-proof yard hydrants at the dog lot (this required us to install another tee on the new water line, install the new yard hydrants and blackroll piping going to them; add ball water shutoff valves; pour pea gravel around the new yard hydrants; and cover the pea gravel with new cement); and 5) tested for leaks and covered and tamped the new water line’s trench.
