Why Does My Toilet Always Clog?
Clogged toilets are a common household plumbing problem. But what if they’re recurring? A toilet that constantly clogs could be caused by flushing non-flushable items, like wipes or hygiene products. Another cause is low-flow toilets that don’t have the flushing power to remove waste. Blockages in the drain pipes or sewer lines, often due to tree roots or mineral buildup, can lead to recurring clogs.
If you have a stubborn clog that won’t go away no matter what you do, call Pride Plumbing. A thorough cleaning may do the trick, or in severe cases, you may need to replace the toilet.

Is My Water Heater Failing?
Nothing can ruin your day faster than running out of hot water during your morning shower. This could be a sign that your water heater needs some TLC or you need a complete replacement. Symptoms of a failing water heater include:
Inconsistent or No Hot Water: If the water doesn’t heat properly or turns cold quickly, it could be a sign of a malfunctioning water heater.
Strange Noises: Rumbling, banging, or popping sounds from the water heater often indicate sediment buildup at the bottom of the tank.
Rust or Discolored Water: If the water appears rusty or has a metallic taste, it might be a sign of corrosion inside the tank.
Water Leaks: Leaks around the water heater indicate that the unit is failing and could cause significant damage if not addressed.
Age: Water heaters over 10-15 years old are more prone to failure and often need to be replaced.

Pride Plumbing came out and provided a cost estimate to: 1) trench a ditch from the water meter to the house to expose and remove the outside main water supply line; 2) install a new 1-inch black roll and PEX outside main water supply line from the water meter to the house along with installing tracer wire; 3) connect the new water line to an existing water line connection under the house and install a ball valve main water cut off; 4) install a new thermal expansion tank on the main water line under the house; 5) install a new pressure reducing valve (PRV), ball valve, and check valve at the water meter in the meter box; 6) test the new water line for working order; and 7) backfill and tamp the ditch after the work is completed and approved by Forsyth County’s Inspection Department.

Pride Plumbing came out and installed a new 40-gallon electric Rheem water heater. After running new PEX water lines over to the unit, we installed water heater pads, the new water heater, a thermal expansion tank, ball water shut-off valves, PEX and stainless-steel water supply lines over to the water heater connectors, a brass drain valve, and wired up the electrical connections to the new water heater (adding a Romex connector). Then we bled the air out of the water lines, ensured that the unit’s temperature and pressure (T&P) relief valve was properly vented, and set the unit to its appropriate operating temperature.

Pride Plumbing came out and performed the following work: 1) installed a shower drain and corrected the fall for the drains for a bathroom sink vanity and toilet; 2) set the bathroom sink vanity and toilet in place; 3) ran new PEX water supply lines from a storage room up and through the ceiling to the bathroom, and over to the shower, bathroom sink vanity, and toilet; 4) insulated the new PEX water supply lines; 5) installed water supply stops for the bathroom sink vanity and toilet; 6) installed a walk-in shower along with its shower valve, showerhead, drain cover, and ADA stainless-steel grab bars; and 7) made all the appropriate water and drain connections. The NC DOT cut the concrete floor through two rooms and trenched and ran a new sewer line from the building to the city sewer tap. We made the necessary PVC drain connections to the sewer main on the side of the building and added a new two-way cleanout.
